Ramos takes Texas Welterweight Belt

By Robert Hughes/Ringside

In an action-packed main event last night Milton Ramos of Waco snatched the State of Texas’ Welterweight Title from Rogelio De La Torre of Houston in an eight-round majority decision in front of 1,107 screaming fight fans at the Hurst Conference Center.
This was an excellent battle between two tough fighters with fast hands and the desire to swing hard but judges in the end chose Ramos. Fightnews had Ramos (9-3-0) and De la Torre (10-3-0) each winning four rounds.
